Welcome to My Bumbershoot Fansite!

Bumbershoot, the annual Seattle Music and Arts Festival has become my regular Labor Day Weekend pilgrimage up north. No other festival experience has this combination of fabulous music, nationally known comedians, literary authors, film makers, fine craftspeople, performing artists and a wealth of experiences.
From international headliners to discovering your next favorite unknown band, the musical variety is astounding. At any given time during the festival, there could be a popular alternative band on one stage, a zydeco band on another, a classic blues musician on another, DJs creating electronic beats from laptops in another, celtic music being played on stringed instruments made from ice sculptures, a punk/metal band, or you could choose to wait in line to hear Nancy Sinatra. With twelve stages going simultaneously, people who are attention deficit will actually find that to be an advantage.
After ten years of commuting to this festival, I opted to set up this site to help spread the word in Portland about this great experience. Along the way, I have developed a set of tips and tricks to enhance your Bumber enjoyment!
This blog is dedicated to sharing information and providing you with a channel to share your own experiences. Local Seattle Bumbershoot fansites don't cover the perspective of fans willing to travel to attend this festival, so special attention will be paid to that aspect in this site.
Enjoy!
